  4. HP's decision to market and sell NetWare for the HP 9000 provides one
  5. stop shopping for your customer and allows you to sell a total HP
  6. solution.  The following are the most commonly asked questions
  7. concerning this recent announcement.

  9. Please keep in mind that the current installed base of Innovus
  10. customers are completely protected.

  12. Q. Why has HP made the decision to sell and market NetWare for the HP
  13.    9000?
  14.  
  15. A. Customers have asked that we provide a total solution.  In addition,
  16.    not providing NetWare for the HP 9000 directly from HP has been used
  17.    against us as a competitive disadvantage.  It is important to note
  18.    that this decision was based on market changes only.  HP will
  19.    continue to get its NetWare solution for the HP 9000 directly from
  20.    Innovus.

  22. Q. What is the availability of NetWare for the HP 9000?
  23.  
  24. A. NetWare for the HP 9000 will be orderable and shipping worldwide in
  25.    the 1st quarter of 1992.  In Europe, NetWare for the HP 9000 is
  26.    currently available directly from HP.  For information, please refer
  27.    to the October 1, 1991 issue of Computer News.

  29. Q. What is the interim plan between now and the time HP releases
  30.    NetWare for the HP 9000?
  31.  
  32. A. HP will continue to support Innovus' effort to meet customer needs.
  33.    If an HP 9000 deal requires NetWare, or if you have an installed HP
  34.    9000 customer with NetWare requirements, you should have your
  35.    customer purchase NetWare for the HP 9000 directly from Innovus.
  36.    Note, NetWare for the HP 9000 is currently available directly from
  37.    HP in Europe.

  39. Q. Is there an impact to the installed base of Innovus customers now
  40.    that HP has decided to market and sell NetWare for the HP 9000?

  42. A. NO!  The decision to market and sell NetWare will be transparent to
  43.    the Innovus installed base.  HP currently supports NetWare from
  44.    Innovus through normal HP support channels.  HP will continue to
  45.    support the Innovus installed base after the release of NetWare for
  46.    the HP 9000 from HP Once on the CPL, software material updates will
  47.    come directly from HP.

  49. Q. Will Innovus continue to sell NetWare for the HP 9000 after HP
  50.    releases its product?

  52. A. NO!  Once HP releases NetWare for the HP 9000, Innovus will
  53.    discontinue direct marketing and selling of their NetWare products.

  55. Q. What HP 9000 platforms will HP's NetWare for the HP 9000 be
  56.    available on?

  58. A. HP's NetWare for the HP 9000 will be available on the Series 800 and
  59.    the Series 600.  NetWare for the Series 300, 400 and 700 will not be
  60.    available from HP.

  62. Q. Why will NetWare not be supported on Series 300, 400 and 700
  63.    workstations?
  64.  
  65. A. NetWare tends to be positioned in commercial markets, and that is
  66.    where the Series 800 is positioned.  For technical environments,
  67.    NetWare supports NFS for file sharing.  Lastly, demand for NetWare
  68.    has been predominately on the Series 800.

  70. Q. What will be the price of HP's NetWare for the HP 9000?

  72. A. NetWare licenses are expected to range in price from $2,725 to
  73.    $24,900 U.S. list.
